Sorry to have been AWOL this past week. Last Saturday an unexpected flash flood took out my entire home-office in the casita behind my house.
Been cleaning up and talking with insurance adjusters and lawyers ever since.
The county set up huge concrete road barriers a block from my home to shut off a road.
In doing so, flood waters were re-directed down my street where they’d never gone before. And the raging waters took out my front yard wall and flooded my property.
Hope to be back in the saddle again soon. In the meantime, here’s a short Fundraising Hot Tip from Richard Perry…
“I suppose it’s human nature – our need to talk about ourselves. … And in the non-profit space, we tend to do this same thing – we talk about our organization, how great we are, how effectively we are tackling the planet’s problems, and how great our system or process is. And what does the donor care about? Whether their giving made a difference!”
How does donating to your campaign make a difference?
How will it fix problems THEY care about?
Remember: Your campaign is not about YOU.
It’s about THEM.
