Copyblogger reminds writers to check these 3 things before sending out your emails or publishing your blog posts…
#1–Hyperlinks
Are they all working and are they all taking the reader where they’re supposed to go?
Can’t tell you how many times I’ve clicked on links from my test emails only to find I’ve entered an incorrect link.
#2–Spelling
Double-check the spelling of names, businesses, locations, publications, titles, etc. Especially names.
Use spell-check. That’s why Al Gore invented it.
However, mistakes happen. Things get missed. So I include a tongue-in-cheek disclaimer at the bottom of my newsletters for the irritating Grammar Cops who catch a boo-boo…
“Disclaimer: There are typos carefully hidden in today's issue. Typos come FREE with your subscription.”
Might want to add something similar to your own publications.
#3–Days and Dates
Be careful to make sure the day and the date match. You’ll confuse people when you tell them your event is on “Wednesday, May 9” when the event is actually on “Tuesday, May 9” or “Wednesday, May 10.”
