Rule #130 of veteran campaign strategist Roger Stone’s “Stone’s Rules” reads as follows:
“Three men can keep a secret, if two of them are dead.”
Trust…NO ONE!
That includes best friends, co-workers and family members – including your spouse. As Mafia don Michael Corleone instructed his wife in Godfather II…
“Don't ask me about my business, Kay.”
Stone goes on to note…
“In truth, there are no secrets. If you tell someone something assume it will leak – even if what you tell them is said in jest.”
And that’s ESPECIALLY true of anything you put in writing – including texts, emails and “private” social media posts.
Also, you better think twice before saying anything verbally on the phone. You never know who – including law enforcement – might be recording your call that could possibly be made public down the road.
Ignore this advice at your own peril.
